Are We Alone? New Study on Aliens & TechnoSignatures

Could we be alone in the universe? A recent study at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology suggests that we might be. For over 60 years, the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) has been listening for radio signals from technological civilizations beyond Earth with no success.  But this new study quantifies the likelihood of when we might hear such a signal and recommends potential strategies to aid in the search.  One interesting finding is that the Earth may have been inside a "silent bubble" for the past 60 years, despite other regions of the galaxy being illuminated by technosignals.  The study also suggests that commensal SETI investigations may be a more effective strategy for finding technosignals than active SETI searches.  Until we detect a techno-signature, we must continue listening to the heavens with patient ears, hoping that someone else is out there waiting to be heard #aliens #science #shorts Subscribe to Science Time: https://www.youtube.com/sciencetime24
