Trial Files: The Olympic Equestrian Driven Insane by His Student

A former Olympic equestrian was driven to the edge of insanity by one of his students and her fianceé who lived on his horse farm in New Jersey. Lauren Kanarek was apparently unsatisfied with the dressage training she received while living rent-free in Michael Barisone’s farmhouse and bashed the Olympian on social media. Tensions between Barisone, Kanarek, and her fianceé, Rob Goodwin, hit a boiling point after the equestrian tried evicting them from his property. In August 2019, police rushed to the farm and found Goodwin on top of a badly-beaten Barisone armed with a pistol and Kanarek suffering from a gunshot wound. Barisone was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder.
