Language can be a limiting factor for non-english-speaking scientific communities, especially in the field of rocket science. Take it from Boeing and NASA propulsion engineer – Diana Alsindy – as she sheds light on the unseen limiting factors that played in her life as a first-generation Arabic immigrant. Diana Alsindy is a propulsion engineer and the founder of @TheArabianStargazer, a bilingual educational platform. She is responsible for designing, testing, and analyzing propulsion systems on liquid propellant rockets. As an Iraqi immigrant, Alsindy is passionate about science accessibility and communications. She wants to ensure space and STEM are open for everyone. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
