#shorts #petebuttigieg #cancellations #debate #FBI #defundthepolice Pete Buttigieg attempted to explain what is happening behind the scenes when flights are delayed en masse. Buttigieg was implying training was needed at the New York Terminal Radar Approach Control, or TRACON, which manages the airspace around three major airports serving the New York City area. In a notice published in March, the agency stated TRACON was only operating at 54%. Nationwide, air traffic controllers are staffed at about 81% with 21,250 per the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This is almost 1,000 fewer than were working before the pandemic in 2019. A House Republican subcommittee advanced legislation to cut funding for the FBI by 9% or $1 billion. Democrats on the subcommittee slammed the proposed legislation, claiming it "defunds" law enforcement instead of supporting law enforcement as Republicans claim to do. The republican debate stage is starting to take shape as deadlines draw near. We have a list of the GOP hopefuls on track to qualify for the first debate — and those who aren't.
