Ukrainian special forces ambushed Russian commanders inside Russia in a daring cross-border raid carried out near the city of Belgorod. The Ukrainians received intelligence that troops camped near the border complained about conditions there, and that high-level ‘inspectors’ were being sent from Moscow to assess the situation and make improvements.
