Drivers drag Just Stop Oil protesters from street in Knightsbridge

Just Stop Oil protesters caused chaos in London as drivers dragged activists from the road in Knightsbridge. The blockade was the group's 12th consecutive stunt, which started on Oct 1. Videos showed drivers getting out of their cars pleading with demonstrators to get out of the road, and a fire engine on blue lights was stopped from reaching an emergency because of the gridlock. One motorist took matters into his own hands and began dragging protesters from the street by their backpacks. Some motorcyclists ignored the line of protesters in the street and drove through small gaps between the protesters to carry on their journeys. The scene was one of anger on Tuesday morning, as one driver screamed: "I’m driving a lady who has to get to hospital with a baby" while another shouted "I’ve gut got to get a flight just move," according to the Evening Standard. There have been more than 125 arrests linked to the protests since the weekend. Around 30 protesters were involved in the blocking of the A4 in Knightsbridge on Tuesday.
