Ukraine’s Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Maliar claims Kyiv’s forces have regained part of Opytne in Donetsk Oblast. With gains in the east, Ukraine has come within 4 km of retaking the Donetsk airport it lost to Russian-backed separatists forces in 2015. A Russian military general told state-run Russia-1 media that the invasion of Ukraine is a mere "stepping stone" to a bigger operation in Europe. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's train "appears" to have left for Russia, South Korea's Yonhap news agency reported.
