Putin Recalls Meeting Fidel Castro, Calls Him a 'Unique Person'

Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the Russia-Latin America Parliamentary Conference on Friday, where he spoke of meetings with Fidel Castro calling him "a unique person." In his speech Putin stressed the influence of "golden billion" countries on the economic potential of Latin America. The plenary session of the conference, under the theme “Russia and Latin America: Cooperation in a fair world for all,” will take place in the State Duma on October 2. Participants in the event will discuss the role of parliamentary diplomacy in building a just multipolar world and in security issues.
