‘A lot of pain’ to come for power bills as government continues shutting down mines

Washington H. Soul Pattinson Executive Chairman Robert Millner says there is “a lot of pain” to come through power bills as the government continues shutting down mines. “I know because I’m in the coal industry and we have copper and zinc operations as well,” he told Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood. “So I can’t build a new copper mine now because I can’t get approvals. “So if I gave you an approval tomorrow it’s going to take you five or six years to get that copper mine up and running, so you’re closing down the base power now and we haven’t got anything to replace it.”
