Wagner Stripped Of Heavy Arms, Prigozhin In Belarus, Putin Reveals Funding, Warning Stopped Mutiny?

Several explosions were reported in the city of Kremenchuk in Ukraine's Poltava Oblast on June 27, following a Russian missile strike. Russia claims Ukrainian forces have lost 259 tanks and 780 armoured vehicles since the counteroffensive began. Russian President Putin said that the Wagner mercenary group was financed by the state between May 2022 and May 2023. The Defence Ministry said preparations are underway for the transfer of Wagner’s “heavy military equipment to active units of the Russian army”. Meanwhile, a top Kremlin leader said Russia must build an army of 7 million men to ensure that no mercenary groups are needed for its security. Belarusian President Lukashenko said he convinced Prigozhin to end the mutiny by warning him his units would be "squashed like a bug". Lukashenko said he had ordered his army to be “combat ready” during the Wagner uprising in Russia. Lukashenko said he told Prigozhin that Putin would never hand over Shoigu and Gerasimov.
