‘Delivering an election commitment’: Government funded program supporting veterans

Assistant Defence Minister Matt Thistlethwaite says the $24 million announced for veterans transitioning into employment after they leave the service is the Albanese government “delivering an election commitment”. “We made a commitment in the lead up to the election that we would support greater veterans' employment,” Mr Thistlethwaite told Sky News Australia. “This $24 million program provides grants for businesses and for veterans to upskill … to ensure that they are employable in the commercial market.”
