Turkey has agreed to back Sweden’s bid to join NATO after a year of blocking the move, citing Turkish security concerns. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg announced that Erdogan agreed to forward Sweden’s membership bid to Turkey’s parliament. After talks in Vilnius, Lithuania, with Erdogan and Swedish PM Ulf Kristersson, Stoltenberg said Turkey had agreed to move forward. Swedish PM Ulf Kristersson said his country has taken a big step towards NATO membership after striking the deal. Meanwhile, Ukraine FM Dmytro Kuleba told Germany not to delay Ukraine's accession to NATO at the Vilnius summit. The US has warned Russia that it should think hard before risking a nuclear catastrophe at the Zaporizhzhia plant. Russian commander Stanislav Rzhitsky, who was deputy head of mobilisation for Krasnodar, was killed in the region, local Telegram channels reported.
