Russia's S-300 Missiles Hit Kharkiv, Putin May Quit Ukraine Grain Deal, Shoigu To Become Scapegoat?

Russian forces have attacked Kharkiv with two S-300 missiles, killing one civilian and injuring three others, Ukraine said. Russian forces launched missiles at Kharkiv from Russia's neighbouring Belgorod region, according to Ukraine Prosecutor General’s office said. According to reports, Putin has undermined the Russian MoD and made it into a “scapegoat” for all the failures. Putin has reportedly made it hard for Sergei Shoigu and Valery Gerasimov to impress their authority on subordinates. The Russian President consistently bypassed or ignored the established chain of command in hopes of securing rapid successes. This has led to a degradation of Shoigu and Gerasimov’s authority, as per reports. A crucial deal that allows the export of grain from Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea is set to expire on July 17 if Russia refuses to renew it. However, Putin said that Russia was set to withdraw from the deal unless its own demands are met. A Kremlin spokesman later clarified that Russia had not taken a final decision on whether to exit the grain deal.
