Physicists Simulated a Black Hole in a Lab Subscribe to Science Time: https://www.youtube.com/sciencetime24 Physicists have simulated a black hole in a lab. Then it started glowing. By using a chain of atoms to simulate a black hole's event horizon they have provided further evidence to Hawking's theory that black holes should emit a faint glow of radiation from virtual particles randomly popping into existence. According to the team involved in the study, this could help resolve the tension between two currently irreconcilable frameworks for describing the Universe: The general theory of relativity, which describes the behavior of gravity as a continuous field known as spacetime; and quantum mechanics, which describes the behaviour of matter and light on the atomic and subatomic scale. #science #shorts #blackhole
