Wagner Group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin has defended his aborted march on Moscow as a "master class" on how Russia should have carried out its February 24, 2022, invasion of Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the US ambassador to Moscow “gave signals” that the US was not involved in the Wagner mutiny even as Russian intelligence services are investigating whether Western spy agencies had played any role. NATO Secretary-General said that though Wagner's aborted armed rebellion was Russia's internal matter, it had highlighted the "big strategic mistake" Putin had made by invading Ukraine. Meanwhile, the EU’s top diplomat sought more support for Ukraine, claiming events over the weekend showed the war was "cracking Russian power and affecting its politics".
