Subscribe to Science Time: https://www.youtube.com/sciencetime24 Dark matter, a mysterious substance in the universe, remains largely undetected yet exerts significant gravitational influence on galaxies. Thought to be made of unknown particles it is often depicted in theoretical models as a single species of particle permeating the universe. However, a recent scientific investigation introduces an exciting possibility: dark atoms. Leveraging this flexibility, the researchers investigated the implications of dark atoms on galaxy evolution through simulations. They discovered that atomic dark matter could coalesce rapidly, forming a "shadow disk" parallel to the galaxy's starry disk. This process doesn't stop there; the dark atoms continue to aggregate, giving rise to dark stars, and even dark black holes. They can also sink into the galaxy's core, intensifying its density significantly. This study opens a door to further our understanding of dark matter, a substance that largely governs our universe. The researchers are hopeful their findings will provide crucial insights into this mysterious cosmic entity. #science #shorts #space
