Scam text messages claiming to be sent from MyGov targeting Australians

Scam text messages are reportedly being targeted and sent to Australians pretending to be MyGov making fraudulent claims about Tuesday’s federal budget. The text messages being sent to people are about a one-off $750 payment despite the budget not mentioning any lump sum payment of said money. Assistant Treasurer Stephen Jones has told Australians to be careful about any communication claiming to be from MyGov, adding that any official messages would be through the MyGov Inbox.
