Sinéad O'Connor funeral: Hundreds line streets of Bray to pay respect to late singer

Hundreds of people in Sinead O’Connor’s hometown have gathered to bid her farewell on the day of her funeral. Fans lined the seafront in Bray, Co Wicklow, on Tuesday morning as the acclaimed singer’s funeral cortege passed by before a private burial. The moving tribute comes after O’Connor’s family asked those who wished to say a “last goodbye” to stand along the Irish coastal road. Handwritten notes have also been left outside her former home in the town, thanking her for sharing her voice and her music – with one note saying: “You are forever in my heart.” U2's Bono, Adam Clayton and The Edge, and Bob Geldof, were among the celebrity mourners. O'Connor was found unresponsive in her South London home by police a fortnight ago. Her death is not being treated as suspicious.
