Wagner revolt reveals a deeply unstable Russian regime | DW News

On Saturday, the Wagner mercenary force, which has led much of the fighting for Russia in eastern Ukraine, aimed its weapons, albeit briefly, at Russia's own military leaders. Wagner's head Yevgeny Prigozhin accusing those leaders of mismanaging the war. In the span of a few hours, the Kremlin accused Prigozhin of being a traitor, Prigozhin called off the rebellion and the Kremlin said it would not pursue charges against any Wagner fighters or Prigozhin himself. But those terms are apparently changing.
