Sir Keir Starmer vowed to break the “stranglehold of Tory decline” as he set out his vision for the UK in a speech to Labour Party conference in Liverpool. The Labour leader’s speech got off to a rocky start after he was interrupted on stage by a protester who threw glitter over him.
