‘Get your flu and your covid jab’: Flu season expected to be ‘moderately bad’

Sydney University Infection Diseases Paediatrician Robert Booy says for people to “get your flu and your covid jab” as the flu season is expected to be “moderately bad". “Flu was moderately bad last year, and we expect it to be about the same this year … it’s valuable to get your flu and your covid jab at the same time … it’s protective, it gets the job done,” Mr Booy said. “The people who are pregnant women, people who are indigenous, people who have a disability, all of them benefit from the highest level of protection … both are worth preventing against because both, in vulnerable people, can be quite serious.”
