50th Anniversary of TKTS Booth in Times Square | One to One

If you’ve passed through the Times Square area recently, you’ve seen a neighborhood teeming with activity. Sidewalk crowds so thick you were forced to walk in the street, and block-long lines of people waiting to get in to see plays at dozens of Broadway theaters. After its theaters were shuttered for 18 months during the Covid pandemic, Broadway is back. During the season that ended in April 2023, 88% of theater seats were filled, and attendance reached well over 12 million. Contributing to the post-pandemic revival of theater in New York is TKTS, which is celebrating its 50th year of making theater available at prices theater-goers can afford.
