Queensland Deputy Premier Steven Miles has provided an update on Cyclone Jasper, which is expected to make landfall on Wednesday. Cyclone preparations are underway across Far North Queensland as Jasper creeps closer to the state’s coastline. Warning zones are in place from Cooktown to Townsville, but not including Townsville. “As you all know, Queensland is the most disaster-affected state in Australia,” Mr Miles said during a media conference on Tuesday. “Our authorities are well prepared to support Queenslanders through whatever Tropical Cyclone Jasper throws at us.”
