Former Liberal MP Nicolle Flint says it is “appalling” more than a third of Victoria’s Labor MPs reportedly don’t live in their electorate. According to The Australian, 20 of Labor’s 56 lower house MPs, and five of their 15 upper house MPs live outside their electorates, opting to live in upmarket suburbs further away from the people they represent. “This is classic chardonnay socialism,” Ms Flint told Sky News host James Macpherson. “We are on the side of the workers, we’re for the workers, we’re for the battlers, we just don’t want to live next door to them. “I think it’s appalling - I think it’s really important that MPs live in their electorate.”
