With Wagner Chief believed to be dead, a host of Russian private ‘security' firms are emerging as successors to the group. The Redut mercenary group controlled by Russian military intelligence is among the most likely successors to the leaderless Wagner PMC. Prigozhin once even clashed with Redut over its bid to poach Wagner fighters. Redut forces were reportedly among the first to enter Ukraine, along with Wagner, when Putin launched Ukraine's invasion in February 2022. Reports say Redut forces were supposed to storm and seize the building of Ukraine’s security service, when they reached Kyiv, and assassinate Zelensky. #prigozhin #wagner #yevgenyprigozhin #russia #africa #ukraine #putin Video: AP/AFP/Reuters/Twitter 0:00 - Introduction 0:24 - Prigozhin Gone, Chance for Russian Pmcs to Grab Wagner? 1:00 - Wagner’s Biggest Rival Private Military Company 2:46 - Redut Forces Also Fought in Ukraine 3:40 - Russia’s “convoy Pmc” Also in the Race to Replace Wagner n18oc_world n18oc_crux CRUX is your daily video news guide to the big events that are shaping our world.
