Pentagon press secretary Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder addressed questions about a suspected Chinese surveillance balloon moving over the U.S. China acknowledged Friday to owning the balloon, but referred to it as a civilian device “used for scientific research such as meteorology."
