‘This is garbage’: PM slammed over handling of Chinese naval incident

Sky News host Chris Kenny has slammed Prime Minister Anthony Albanese over mishandling the situation with the Chinese sonar incident. Australian navy divers suffered minor injuries after an incident involving a Chinese People’s Liberation Army-Navy warship. Although Anthony Albanese condemned the actions of the Chinese destroyer, he refused to confirm whether he discussed the incident with Chinese Xi Jinping at the APEC Summit. “This is so obvious what Albanese has done here he suppressed this information because he didn’t want to have to deal with this when he was meeting with the Chinese president and premier again in San Francisco and then, of course, he hasn’t fronted him over it,” Mr Kenny said. “This is garbage, him saying he can’t, saying what he discussed he might not want to go into detail but he could easily say I raised this issue with the Chinese president, that’s not going to create any diplomatic problems.”
