Washington Today (2-1-24): Pres. Biden sanctions Israeli West Bank settlers attacking Palestinians

President Joe Biden issues an Executive Order imposing financial and travel sanctions in Israeli settlers taking part in attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank. President also talks about the war between Israel and Hamas at the National Prayer Breakfast in the U.S. Capitol Building. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin holds his first news conference since the controversy over keeping his recent hospitalization secret from the White House and the public. He says, "I have apologized directly to President Biden and I've told him that I'm deeply sorry for not letting him know immediately that I received a heavy diagnosis (of prostate cancer)." Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) says no later than next Wednesday will be the first test vote on a bill combined aid to Israel, Ukraine, Taiwan and U.S. border security, with the final text of the package to be released this weekend.
