The separatist leader of the Nagorno-Karabakh territory within Azerbaijan has declared that the territory will 'cease to exist' by the beginning of next year. This comes after Azerbaijan arrested his predecessor. Armenian-Russian billionaire Ruben Vardanyan was brought to the Azeri capital Baku after being taken into custody on the road to Armenia. This comes as Armenian authorities say more than half of the population of Nagorno-Karabakh has fled since Azerbaijan took control of the territory last week. The prime minister's office says more than 65,000 people have now arrived in Armenia from the breakaway region. DW's Maria Katamadze is at the Armenian border with Azerbaijan, where she met some of the people seeking safety. Journalist Neil Hauer joins us from the Armenian town of Kornidzor, near the border with Azerbaijan. #azerbaycan #armenia #nagornokarabakh Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/user/deutschewelleenglish?sub_confirmation=1 For more news go to: http://www.dw.com/en/ Follow DW on social media: ►Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deutschewellenews/ ►Twitter: https://twitter.com/dwnews ►Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dwnews ►Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/dwnews_hangout Für Videos in deutscher Sprache besuchen Sie: https://www.youtube.com/dwdeutsch
