Concerns Victoria could experience ‘flash flooding’ amid bushfire warnings

Concerns have been raised for the state of Victoria experiencing flash flooding as rainfall begins to occur. The state has received three emergency bushfire warnings. Country Fire Authority Chief Officer Jason Heffernan says Victoria is seeing “really hot and strong northern winds,” which contributed to the spread of the bushfire. “We are starting to see some rainfall – in fact, rain has been falling here in Melbourne,” he told Sky News Australia. “We do anticipate rain to start falling across some of these fire grounds in the next few hours. “Today ... is likely to be a day of watching out for flash flooding.”
