Psychiatrist Dr Tanveer Ahmed says children need an “adult-free world” with unstructured play time for crucial developmental processes. ‘Unstructured play’ is when a child is given time to entertain themselves alone or with other children unsupervised. “Every culture will have a parallel world,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny. “Kids need an adult-free world. “These days the only place they’re able to find that is online.”
