Germany has arrested seven men on charges of orchestrating an alleged terrorist plot inspired by the Islamic State (IS). The suspects had formed a clandestine cell after arriving in Germany from Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan in 2022 shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine. Another Tajik man, along with his Kyrgyz wife, related to the group was arrested in the Netherlands.
