In this Emmy award–winning video essay, witness the tragic realities faced during Sudan’s Darfur genocide. Between 2003 and 2007, the Darfuri people experienced unspeakable violence. World leaders condemned the Sudanese government for their actions related to the crisis and called for international assistance for the Darfuri people. However, with the lack of cooperation from Sudanese officials, the conflict wreaked havoc in the region. Originally published in 2007, this compilation of footage and photographs depicts the humanitarian crisis. This video was a part of CFR.org’s Emmy award–winning multimedia Crisis Guide series, aimed at providing detailed, tailored resources for exploring some of the world’s most complex disputes.
