Russia's clandestine spetsnaz forces have been gutted by the war in Ukraine and will need years to rebuild, according to leaked intelligence documents seen by the Washington Post. The spetsnaz - special forces - are usually reserved for high-risk advance missions, but leaked US intelligence suggests that Russian commanders were over reliant on the units and deployed them into direct combat, where they suffered massive numbers of dead and wounded.
