Lockheed Martin has successfully obtained a contract with the potential value of $1.05 billion for the deployment of the Integrated Combat System (ICS) across the fleets of both the US Navy and US Coast Guard. The initial contract, valued at $23 million, encompasses system engineering and software integration tasks. The anticipated completion date for this contract is September 2024, and if all options are exercised, the work will extend through 2030. Lockheed Martin was one of the two contenders vying for the contract, while the identity of the second contender remains undisclosed. The US Navy's newly established program office responsible for the integrated combat system released a request for proposals pertaining to systems engineering and software integration for a future ICS in May 2022.
