The traffic camera footage shows what has reportedly been identified as Timberlake's 2025 BMW SUV driving down a street in the Hamptons on Long Island. According to the Sag Harbor Police Department, Timberlake was pulled over at 12:37 a.m. Tuesday after failing to stop at a stop sign and not maintaining his lane of travel.
"Upon investigation, it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition," the police department said in a press release.
A police report indicated that an officer observed Timberlake with bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and he had trouble standing. Police added there was a "strong odor of an alcoholic beverage" emanating from his breath and that he "performed poorly" on all standardized field sobriety tests.

,1,Feb. 3, 2023 lives in the hearts and minds of the people of East Palestine. A Norfolk Southern train carrying toxic chemicals derailed near the Ohio-Pennsylvania border, causing a massive fire.
Days after the derailment, officials decided to vent and burn vinyl chloride from the wreck to avoid a potentially catastrophic explosion. The National Guard blocked roads to the area and Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine urged residents to leave.
The mandatory evacuation was lifted after only three days. The governor's office said air quality samples showed safe readings, and Norfolk Southern started running trains again.
But residents were scared to breathe the air and drink the water. Families demanded independent testing on wells and relied on bottled water. Businesses struggled to stay afloat.
Scripps News visits East Palestine a year after the derailment to see what life is like now, and to share the lesson the community can teach all of America.

,1,Congress is working to pass a budget deal to avoid a government shutdown right now.
The US is operating under a two part funding plan that expires January 19th and February 2nd. Lawmakers reached a spending agreement over the weekend, but will likely need more time to pass any measure due to opposition from Republicans.
Congress may now need to pass a short term funding bill in order to avoid a shutdown.
Bobby Kogan, Senior Director of Federal Budget Policy at the Progressive Center for American Progress, spoke with Scripps News about the likelihood of the bill.

,1,Yemen's Houthi rebels fired their largest-ever barrage of drones and missiles targeting shipping in the Red Sea, forcing the United States and British navies to shoot down the projectiles in a major naval engagement, authorities said Wednesday. No damage was immediately reported.
The attack by the Iranian-backed Houthis came despite a planned United Nations Security Council vote later Wednesday to potentially condemn and demand an immediate halt to the attacks by the rebels, who say their assaults are aimed at stopping Israel's war on Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
However, their targets increasingly have little — or no — connection to Israel and imperil a crucial trade route linking Asia and the Middle East with Europe. (AP)

,1,Former President Donald Trump spoke out following his hearing on immunity in the federal election interference case on Tuesday.
Federal appeals court judges in Washington expressed deep skepticism that the former president was immune from prosecution on charges that he plotted to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
The panel of three judges, two of whom were appointed by President Joe Biden, also questioned whether they had jurisdiction to consider the appeal at this point in the case, raising the prospect that Trump's effort could be dismissed.
During lengthy arguments, the judges repeatedly pressed Trump's lawyer to defend claims that Trump was shielded from criminal charges for acts that he says fell within his official duties as president. That argument was rejected last month by a lower-court judge overseeing the case against Trump, and the appeals judges suggested through their questions that they, too, were dubious that the Founding Fathers envisioned absolute immunity for presidents after they leave office. ,1,Pope Francis calls for a universal ban on surrogate motherhood, labeling it "despicable" and highlighting the "commercialization" of pregnancy in his annual speech on global threats to peace and human dignity.
In his address to ambassadors, the Pope expressed concern over various global issues, including conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, migration, climate crises, and the production of nuclear weapons. He specifically condemned surrogate motherhood as a serious violation of the dignity of women and children, calling for a global ban on the practice.
This stance aligns with the Catholic Church's opposition to surrogacy, which is already prohibited in some European countries such as Spain and Italy.

,1,The Supreme Court said Friday it will decide whether former President Donald Trump can be kept off the ballot because of his efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss, inserting the court squarely in the 2024 presidential campaign.
The justices acknowledged the need to reach a decision quickly, as voters will soon begin casting presidential primary ballots across the country. The court agreed to take up Trump's appeal of a case from Colorado stemming from his role in the events that culminated in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Arguments will be held in early February.

,1,U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson led around 60 Republicans on a visit to the Mexican border, pressing for strict immigration policies in exchange for endorsing President Joe Biden's $110 billion emergency funding for Ukraine.
The delegation visited Eagle Pass, Texas, amid delicate Senate negotiations for a bipartisan deal. The border city has been central to Republican Gov. Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star, a nearly $10 billion initiative challenging federal immigration authority.
The talks in Washington will determine GOP support for Biden's funding package, addressing priorities for Ukraine, Israel, and U.S. security. Last month saw over 10,000 illegal crossings, intensifying the political debate on immigration.

,1,Maine's Democratic secretary of state on Thursday removed former President Donald Trump from the state's presidential primary ballot under the Constitution's insurrection clause, becoming the first election official to take action unilaterally in a decision that has potential Electoral College consequences.
The decision by Secretary of State Shenna Bellows follows a December ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court that booted Trump from the ballot there under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. Colorado is a Democratic-leaning state that is not expected to be competitive for Republicans in November.
