Self-exclusion register for online gamblers to launch on August 21

Australians struggling with gambling addiction will be able to ban themselves from all gambling companies using just one form. BetStop – a national self-exclusion register – will replace older systems in all states and territories when it is launched on August 21. The register has come into effect almost five years after legislation was introduced to parliament. Former communications minister Paul Fletcher first proposed legislation in 2018 but it never passed.
