Classic restoration bike build of a Raleigh Chopper 1973 With so much history around this iconic little bike we wanted to do something special and fully restore one. We've had a few sitting around our workshop for a few months and found a few days in December to restore one and feature it here as a special classic restoration. The Raleigh Chopper was originally built in the 1970s by the Raleigh Bicycle Company of Nottingham, England. Its unique design became a cultural icon. The design was influenced by dragsters, "chopped" motorcycles, beach buggies, and even chariots, as can be seen on the centre page of the 1969 Raleigh US catalogue.
