Hostage Deal: Israel and Hamas agree 4-day Pause in Fighting Israel and Hamas have agreed to a four-day pause in fighting in the Gaza Strip, after 47 days of conflict. The start time of the pause will be announced within 24 hours, meanwhile Israel is continuing their operations inside of the Gaza Strip. The agreement was mediated by Qatar and will require Hamas to release at least 50 hostages from Gaza. Israel will then release 150 Palestinian women and teenagers held in Israeli detention. The pause in fighting by Hamas and Israel will be extended by a day for every 10 further hostages released. According to the statement, during the temporary pause, hundreds of trucks will be allowed to send humanitarian supplies to different regions in the Gaza Strip. The IDF have also announced a new evacuation window in northern Gaza for people to head south until 4pm local time. Israel have previously advised Palestinians to head towards the “safe routes” in the south, to allow thousands of people to escape. Israel has reiterated their commitment to "complete the elimination of Hamas”, insisting that this is not the end of the war.
