‘No one is safe’: Man’s desperate plea for father stranded in Gaza

Shaher Dahlan discusses the desperate situation of his father who is stranded in Gaza. The Department of Foreign Affairs are currently attempting to evacuate Australian citizens and passport holders out of the Palestinian city. Western Sydney man Abdullah Dahlan chose to stay behind as his wife doesn’t have an Australian passport. “I heard from my father last night – he is for the time being okay but the situation really is a day-to-day proposition,” Shaher Dahlan told Sky News Australia. “No one is safe in Gaza.” He believes DFAT is doing everything in their power to ensure his father’s wife Samah Dahlan is included in a list of foreign nationals to be evacuated. “The main concern I have is that there was a ministerial order in place and someone at the border has seen fit to veto that order.”
