Iowa school shooting: Suspect dead and multiple injured

At least one person has reportedly been killed and others wounded in a shooting at a high school in Iowa. Police confirmed an active shooter had been reported shortly after 7.40am on Thursday morning at Perry High School, northwest of Des Moines. Students on their first day back after the Christmas holidays were evacuated from the school. Lori Meinecke, a teacher at the school, told the local Raccoon Valley Radio station she had heard six or seven gunshots, followed by officials evacuating children.
