Israel and Hamas have started exchanging hostages and prisoners. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) reports that Hamas has released 24 hostages into their custody. The ICRC then took them into Egypt through the Rafah Crossing, where the Israeli military flew them to a medical centre in Israel. The Egyptian government says 12 of the hostages were Thai nationals, and that it helped negotiate their release. Meanwhile, Israel says it will release 39 Palestinian detainees, from Ofer military prison in the West Bank. Israel transferred detainees, consisting of 24 women and 15 boys under the age of 18, to the prison in minibuses earlier today. Relatives of the prisoners have been waiting near the prison in anticipation of their release all day. There have also been some minor clashes between Israeli security forces and Palestinians in the area around the prison. The exchange is the first since the temporary ceasefire started this morning, but the families of those still detained will hope more will follow. #israel #gaza #palestine Subscribe here: http://bit.ly/ODNsubs TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@ondemandnews Twitter: https://twitter.com/ODN Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ODN/ If you wish to purchase any of our clips for commercial use, please visit: http://www.itnproductions.co.uk/news/
