Ghost.org vs Substack! Why Blogging Platform is BEST For Serious Writers

After creating tutorials for both Substack and Ghost, it's safe to say that they are pretty similar in their product offering. But which one is best for making money from a blog? My choice? Ghost all day everyday ➡ https://davidutke.com/ghost Substack allows you to create a free blog while Ghost.org you'll have to pay a monthly fee. But with your monthly fee to Ghost you get access to some beautiful themes that allow you to customize your website, the ability to set "from" address within your emails and no transaction fee. Substack is free, but they do charge a 10% transaction fee once you start running paid subscriptions which can really add up if you start to have success. Also, Substack is privately owned and not open source so there is always the risk of them being sold or shut down. One huge benefit however with Substack is that they provide free podcast hosting, yes free. All in all if I had to pick a platform I personally would go with Ghost as they allow you to have more ownership and control over your online presence and don't eat into your profits once you start making money with blogging.
