Australians become ‘seriously desperate’ as retail theft rises

Sky News host Caleb Bond brings attention to more alleged cases of theft from supermarkets as people become “seriously desperate” during the current cost of living crisis. “Their mortgages are going through the roof, their rent’s gone through the roof, their childcare’s gone through the roof, their electricity bills, everything,” Mr Bond told Sky News host Peta Credlin. “People who were already on the precipice of danger, who borrowed money because they were told by the RBA it was the right thing to do, have found themselves in very precarious circumstances.”
