‘Theatrical tactic’: US government avoids shutdown

Sky News contributor Kosha Gada says the recent potential shutdown of the government is viewed as a “theatrical tactic”. Ms Gada sat down with Sky News host Amanda Stoker to discuss the US narrowly avoiding a government shutdown. “There have been about ten shutdowns since the 1990s in modern times … lasted about two to four weeks,” she told Ms Stoker. “It’s usually viewed as kind of a theatrical tactic where different political factions in congress can curry favour or maybe get some advantage of the margins. “It never fundamentally changes anything about government spending.”
