France gripped by worst drought on record as it introduces water restrictions

Extreme heat in France is hampering food production as the country introduces water restrictions to deal with its worst drought on record. People have been limited to only 200 litres of water a day, and those who “break the rules” will be handed a 15,000 euro fine. Some French villages have also reported no access to safe drinking water as sources dry up.
