Two people have died after a car explosion at a checkpoint near Rainbow Bridge, which connects the US with Canada, the Associated Press reported, citing local authorities. An eyewitness at the scene, Mike Guenther, said: 'We see this car coming down towards the border and he was flying over 100mph... he went up into the air and we've just seen a fire ball, that's all we could see, it was covered in smoke everywhere.' Speaking in parliament, Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau said four border crossings between the US and Canada were closed as a result of the explosion.
