Sibelius: "Pohjolan tytär" Santtu-Matias Rouvali/Gothenburg S.O., 2022

I made another version with a still image for bandwidth issues which my 4G network has. The item is Faberge Winter Egg (1913) designed by Alma Pihl (1988-1976) who was a Finnish artist and a Faberge workmaster. After fleeing St Petersburg in 1917 she told nobody in Finland she had worked in Russia, such was the zeitgeist in Finland. Now we know better don't we. One of the best "Daughter of Pohjolas", very cohesive and energetic, well recorded -- this time the miking captures even the harp. Santtu-Matias Rouvali (1985-) is one of the talented Finnish conductors from the younger generation.
