At least 50 people may be dead and 300 hospitalised in India after a passenger train derailed and collided with a goods train on Friday, according to media reports. Many other passengers are still believed to be trapped under derailed carriages. Rescue operations were underway at the site in Odisha state, eastern India, and “all possible assistance” is being given to those affected, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, adding that he was “distressed” by the accident. #india #train #crash Subscribe to The Telegraph with our special offer: just £1 for 3 months.
