Trans issue has become ‘ground zero’ of culture wars

Psychiatrist and author Tanveer Ahmed says the issues and debate around transgender people has become “ground zero” for culture wars. “In adolescence you get an identity disturbance often, you’re going through identity issues,” he told Sky News host Rowan Dean. “I guess my big concern about the trans issue which has basically become ground zero of the culture wars, it’s really become a language and out to channel all types of psychic distress and identity disturbance. “More often than not it will settle down like a lot of adolescent issues do.”
